Role Description
- We are looking for a Field Application Engineer to be the primary technical point of contact for clients in the region.
- This is a client-facing, hands-on role. You will visit customers on-site, understand their engineering challenges, and recommend the right components and solutions.
- You will support the sales team as the technical expert in client conversations rather than acting as the primary salesperson. Your role will be to bridge the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring customers receive the right technical guidance while the sales team manages the commercial relationship.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site visits to clients and prospects to provide technical consultation and support
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate electronic components and solutions
- Provide technical support to the sales team during client visits and proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering and procurement contacts at key accounts
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and product recommendations
- Represent Zephyr Technologies at client meetings, industry events, and technical reviews
- Provide first-level technical support throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams on component selection and validation
- Manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role, field engineering, or technical sales support
- Solid understanding of electronic components and general design principles
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients and managing relationships independently
- Working knowledge of PCB design, embedded systems, or IoT is a plus, but not required
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to support sales cycles and technical conversations
- Advanced English proficiency (B2+); Spanish required
- Availability to travel within Mexico and occasionally internationally
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
